Wasn't expecting to sail today with no longboard but my mate Neil Hurrell rang early and asked if I was up to a session at Levington and he would lend me a F2 Lightning :) So I arrived at 10:30 to find Neil and Pete Mortimer so we could officially run the first outing of the 'Old Boys Cruising Club' :) It was a good tide with high at about 1:30 so we had plenty of water and with a westerly 15 + me and neil took a chance with 9.4 and as this was Pete's first trip out this year played it safer with 8.2. We started by beating up river and we were on the limit at times with 9.4 so when we got to Pin Mill we stopped and did a series of broad reaches back and I continued to Felixstowe Docks !!! I was having suich a nice time now the sun had come out and it was 14 degrees me and Neil did the whole thing again :) The F2 was a nice easy board to sail and I would have gone a few knots faster if the flushing strip wasn't hanging off :( but a big thank you to Neil for lending me the longboard while mine is being repaired. So a top session enjoyed by all - most enjoyable of the year so far :)
